Logan laid flat on his belly in seclusion just outside of Jewelspar. He was within seeing distance but not hearing distance, but it was as close as he could comfortably get to do his thing. And that thing was to simply wait. He had slaughtered Tybalt and his family in Paldeshire, and maimed Lord Dammas and his 6 bodyguards outside of Ahmiran. More importantly, he'd beheaded them both yet only had Dammas' head currently in his possession. Along the way from Ahmiran to Jewelspar, Logan had stopped to make Dammas more presentable. He scoured the county side until he had found a good piece of wood about 5 feet in length and had then shaved it perfectly into a spike, about 4 feet tall now; the base of the stick was 3 feet tall but the sharpened end was a full foot long. From that point he took the severed head of his victim and slammed it down, neck first, onto the end of the sharp portion of the stick. The end result was his very own "stickhead", which he immediately named "Dung-man" in memorial of how much of a piece of crap Dammas was.
Logan had spent the rest of the trip from Ahmiran to Jewelspar befriending his new "buddy" and had actually made a measure of peace with "him". Now though, they laid together side by side, both staring at the village from their comfortable distance - not too close but not too far. Logan was clad in a similar suit fashioned out of nature itself, much like he'd done up in Ahmiran, and even resorted to making "Dung-man" a matching "helmet" made from the same material. Watching the town, Logan spotted one of the soldiers picking up a child that had merely gotten in the way unintentionally. The soldier then tossed the small boy with great force away from him, causing the boy to fly like a arrow through the air and crash through a nearby table.
"Ahahahha! Oh come on, 'Dung-man', you gotta admit that was funny. Since when did you grow a heart? Wait, how in the hell do you even HAVE a heart? You're just a stick and a head. Ahhh don't give me no back sway, remember what I did to you last time! The fine soldier up there has skills and under different circumstances I'd gladly challenge him to a child tossing duel."
After a sudden bout of maniacal "quiet laughter", Logan abruptly shut up and just looked on without emotion for awhile. He got parched next and opened up his flask for water and drank some, then placed it to "Dung-man's" mouth and forced him to drink some as well, fruitlessly of course. Jewelspar is where he would wait for the leadership up in Ahmiran to take heed to his warning, and exile Hal Vesci from there so that he may wander to Jewelspar - the most likely spot he'd run to - and right into Logan's clutches for the kill. Logan had already plotted his avenues of egress if spotted, and his horse, Macabre, was on call about half mile away. It wasn't ideal for him to place his steed that far off, but he could ruin Logan's cover if not.
More hours passed as Logan thought of all the ways he could kill Hal Vesci once he got ahold of him. But in the midst of his morbid pondering, his eyes were graced upon a brave young lad of maybe 12 years old. He was walking and holding the same small child that was hurled earlier, so he was more than likely the kid's older brother. He probably wouldn't be for long though, as the act he committed, picking up two stones and pelting the tossing soldier in the face with them, gave way to a foot chase. The kid fled and had a good lead on them but the soldiers, adults and obviously in some sort of decent shape, were catching up to him. Luckily for Logan they were running along his right side, and were about 100 meters in front of him.
That didn't last. The kid changed course and hauled ass toward Logan's general vicinity. The speed of the chase alarmed him and he knew that fleeing would be bad, very bad. So Logan held tight and hugged the earth as the kid flew into the wooded area where he was and disappeared somewhere behind him. The kid had created a good cushion between him and his pursuers. Logan grabbed onto the handle of his sword, which was readily accessible as the four pursuers slowed to a jog but were still coming toward the area. Logan cursed himself for not fleeing, now there was a 50/50 chance he'd wind up having to kill some of them and have the whole damn village come down on him. He was ready though and braced, but finally the group slowed from a jog to a brisk walk while calling out to the boy mockingly. Then they stopped at the edge of the wood-line and appeared to be ready to turn back and wait for the kid to come back later. He had to come back sometime, right? Logan breathed a sigh of relief - he had dodged a bullet, now nothing would hinder his plans ..... OR WOULD THEY?
