A thin coat of dust fills the air in the small two bedroom house, the morning light shines down through a window brightly illuminating the room. Simply furnished with two beds, both occupied, a small wooden table, and wooden footlockers at the end of each bed. The thick smell of bed baking fills the house, and as Orson begins to stir it is obvious to him that Helena is readying her wares for the day. Celeste, who had been up for awhile now, long enough to dress sits on the side of her bed and appears to be in deep thought. "Good morning Celeste." Orson's voice called out, but was not answered back. Orson calls to his sister once more, this time a bit louder which does the trick and snaps Celeste back to. Celeste puts on a partial smile and turns to look at her brother. "Good morning to you as well little brother, I apologize for ignoring you I was just thinking." Orson's cherub like face dons a frown, Celeste makes her way over to him and ruffles his short brown hair. After assuring him she was alright Celeste motions towards the door to the living area before leaving so he could dress for the day.
The living room is sparsely decorated, a cauldron slowly simmers as it sits atop a small fire, that nights dinner slowly cooking inside. A few make shift chairs are strewn about, and a shelf hangs on a near wall. Celeste's mother Helena sees her enter the room and smiles warmly, this gesture as it normally does makes Celeste feel all the better. Helena, having just finished loading some bread into two baskets placed on the living area table, motions towards a loaf of Challah bread "Morning dear, I have left some Challah for Orson and you, please make sure your brother eats some before he goes out." Celeste nods at her mother, who hurriedly rushes out the door on her way to her shop. Celeste, not all that hungry, picks at the bread a little and savors the day old bread as she patiently waits for Orson to join her. Orson, his usual smile now right back where it should be, jogs happily into the room and lightly hugs his sisters left leg before he sees the bread loaf sitting on the table. Before Celeste even asks him to have some of the Challah, the small boy breaks the loaf in half, takes a few small nibbles and heads out the door to meet up with his friends no doubt.
"Alone. Celeste sighs, a million thoughts at once racing in and out of her mind. She was leaving to try to get an audience with a Lords of Valor recruiter soon, but she was unsure how to break it to her father. Raymond, Celeste's father, had been firmly against the idea of her joining in on this needless war, but to Celeste joining it was the right thing to do. Though even if it were for nothing, this had been her dream ever since she could remember, to her The Lords of Valor were more than just soldiers, to her they stood for something great and she desperately wanted to do her part for them. What if they didn't accept her, better yet what if they did? Would her father let her go, or would he go through with the threat he made all those years ago? One thing was for sure, she would have her answers for better or worse. Taking a deep breath, Celeste reaches into her shirt and pulls out a letter that she had written to her family the night before, explaining her absence and voicing her intention to join the lords one final time. Celeste places her lips on the letter and gently lays it on the table before. Knowing she'll likely get hungry on the way, Celeste finds a jar and ladles some of the mutton stew into it, she then pockets the rest of her mothers Challa before exiting the house, for possibly the final time if her father's words still hold true.
Outside of the house the town of Dalansvale was very much alive, the sounds of hagglers can be heard and the sight of small children playing is witnessed by Celeste as she goes to a hitching post in the front of her parent's homestead. Attached to the post is a marvelous horse, it's coat a pale almost gray color. The read haired woman slowly strokes the horses neck as she fights back tears, her thoughts causing her great mental strain. Celeste unties Minerva and places a nearby saddle gently on her back, she opens a satchel on the saddle and puts the jar in. Celeste then climbs up onto the mare, breaths lightly, and makes her way out of town. As Minerva trots down the dusty road Celeste takes a look around her dear home, "Maybe staying wouldn't be so bad, maybe a normal life would be better." Celeste spoke the words, but that thought quickly vanished. She has seen far too often what a 'normal life' was like, sure she'd likely be safer but she'd never truly be happy like that. Happy with the knowledge that she was going to at the very least attempt to live her dream, Celeste and Minerva vanish towards the castle town of Breetle, from here it was off to join the Lords of Valor. With her head high, and her heart heavy, Celeste would finally be able to see if she could make a lifelong dream a reality.
